How long will VUDU last like Flixster? If Apple’s 4K movies holds true, I could finally see myself shifting to digital movies. But they gladly will offer that version for $29.99. VUDU works well enough, but when redeeming a UHD titles your not always entitled to the UHD version. To me this is huge, anyone who has used VUDU/Flixster knows about the hoops to jump through, plus the linking of multiple accounts per studios. Apple updated Apple TV to 4K HDR, made moves already purchased automatically get the 4K version without an added cost, if available. As the internet speeds improve the difference become less noticeable for many of us. I enjoy watching UHD/HDR with Dolby Atmos, so I’m physical for that reason alone. My main reason with staying physical with movies is because of the quality of the streaming. I have a media room so they have a closet to stay in. Even now with streaming taking over I look over at my Blu-rays and look at the space it all takes up. I never pass on an opportunity to pick up a few at a bargain.

I’m a movie guy, have tons of Blu-ray’s, like games. But having a consoles in the palm of your hands with every game you own is awesome. I just don’t know how important or disappointing having all digital will be after the switch has been replaced. I have to say being digital on the Switch feels so good. Nintendo Switch, I only have a 4/6 games and it’s mostly physical because I don’t think Nintendo is going to allow past games to be redownloaded that were purchased on Wii U then or moving forward. Looking forward to Xbox One X and the digital future. BC gaming has been a real treat on the Xbox One, being able to play 3 generations of games on one console. Within the last year, I have purchased almost exclusively digital. I have felt like digital is going to work for Xbox. Moving back to Xbox after Phil took over. I’m not against paying a small fee to “unlock” the game if it was an option.

PS4 is mainly physical because of how they have handled the digital games from the PS3 and next to no PS2 games. I have all the consoles and I’m mainly a physical gamer, but as I’ve gotten older I can appreciate having the extra space of not having shelves of games and the added convenience of being able to launch the game without swapping discs.

I firmly was against digital gaming for years. Have your thoughts changed as this generation has progressed? Also, have you started buying movies to stream.īack in 2013 with Microsoft’s disastrous E3. I wanted to get a feel for how gamers feel about going digital now.
